Guided tour and fine dining included
We are delighted to be able to offer, for the first time, an exclusive garden tour and
fine-dining lunch experience at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, currently owed by Lord
and Lady Edward Manners. Described by journalist and author Simon Jenkins as
‘the most perfect house to survive from the middle ages’, Haddon Hall enjoys an
exquisite location overlooking the rolling Derbyshire hills.
Over the past 15 years the terraced gardens that surround the Hall have been
redesigned and transformed by celebrated British garden designer Arne Maynard.
Our garden tour will be hosted by Head Gardener Lindsay Berry and Arne’s sister-in-law Elke, who helps create the unique planting plans and plant combinations for gardens that Arne designs. Lindsay and Elke will lead a personal tour of the terraces, showing how details from the house have been used to inspire the garden’s design and giving an in-depth look at the planting around the Hall.
Following the tour we will move down the road to The Peacock at Rowsley for a
wonderful two course lunch with wine. The Peacock’s restaurant has been awarded three AA rosettes and serves a delicious seasonal menu, using produce local to the Peak District National Park.
