Thursday 20 June, 11.00am – 3.00pm
Garden tour and lunch included
We will start the day with a garden tour led by Head Gardener Colin Durber.
Ozleworth Park was purchased by Mr and Mrs Michael Stone in 1990 and since that time they have undertaken a complete reconstruction of the gardens.
This magnificent garden boasts a parterre with roses planted against a backdrop of mature yew and seedling box; a long mixed border at the end of which is the rill garden heavily planted with hostas, euphorbia, irises, astilbes, ferns and other
moisture loving plants.
The shrub rose garden is enclosed by very fine mature Irish yews and beyond the rose garden there are lily ponds, a place of quiet contemplation.
The walled garden has herbaceous borders backed with a random mix of copper and green beech and an orchard comprising pears, apples, cherries, quince and mulberries. The greenhouses have three separate temperature regions and
beyond them lies the herb garden. The picture is completed by the Water Garden, with five cascading formal ponds each linked by a small rill.
Lunch will be served in the barn, after which guests can take time to revisit their favourite areas.
